WMD 2021 (May 20, 2021) was a great opportunity for the measurement community to come together face-to-face after an isolated 2020.  I'm sure all attendees had a special appreciation for how fortunate we were to be able to gather in Lower Hutt (NZ), Melbourne (AUS) and Sydney (AUS), while many other regions around the globe would be unable due to COVID-19.

WMD 2021 was a particularly special day for MSL New Zealand, with the opening of a new building to house their temperature and electrical laboratories.

Members in Melbourne gathered at Steve Jenkins & Associates / Photometric Solutions, operated by MSA member Tony Bergen.  Richard Crendal from NMIA presented about their rapid establishment of accredited testing of surgical face masks in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Members in Sydney gathered at the Park Hyatt.  The topic Metrology in Orbit was presented by guest speaker Dr Tim Parsons, Chair of the Space Industry Association of Australia. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the MSA and Metering Allocation Working Group (MAWG) was formally signed and Dr Barry Inglis was recognised for his long-standing contribution to metrology and the MSA.
