One of the challenges for metrologists and calibration laboratories in these times of ongoing COVID travel and work restrictions is accessing high quality training to support development or upskilling of staff.  NMI Australia has adapted many of its courses to operate online via Webex video conference.  NMI has asked the MSA to inform its members of the following upcoming courses:

 

Calibration of liquid hydrocarbon flow meters online course on 6 – 7 April 2022

It is aimed at manufacturers, technicians and laboratory managers involved in the calibration and use of flowmeters.
The course is delivered by NMI technical experts live, via Webex training platform.
Course structure is 4 sessions over 2 days, including the following topics:

Session 1: Introduction, traceability; Product properties and characteristics; Overview of flow meters and their characteristics; Introduction to ancillary instrumentation

Session 2: Calibration schemes: Volumetric vessels, In-Line Provers; Volume Correction Factors (VCFs), API methods

Session 3: Calibration schemes: Gravimetric, Meter-to-Meter; Uncertainty of calibration workshop (gravimetric example)

Session 4: Reporting measurement results, Q&A

Testing temperature-controlled enclosures course on 8 June 2022

The course will be delivered live by technical experts online, via Webex  platform

This course includes overviews of national and international standards, and compares testing requirements of AS2853 and IEC 60068-3-5. It also includes an outline of medical refrigeration equipment temperature mapping requirements to meet AS3864.2
