Member Survey
It is the responsibility of the MSA committee to hold sufficient cash reserves in order to finance at least one future conference. Now, due to the economic success of past conferences, the MSA has funds available (excess to its conference requirements) that can be invested in our membership and the Metrology community at large. We seek your opinion on how these funds can be best utilised in order to benefit Metrology and Metrologists.
Thanks to those members who have already provided your thoughts and if you think there's something we're missing please get in touch.
Standards Australia - seeking Technical Committee representative
Standards Australia is currently reviewing the Technical Committee CH-040 General Requirements for Reference Materials. MSA members have been involved in many Technical committees in the past and there is now an opportunity in the CH-040 General Requirements for Reference Materials committee. If there are any members who would like to participate and be part of these discussions or for more information please contact agnes.simai@standards.org.au or phone +61 2 9237 6109, before 10 April.
Details of the next meeting of the Technical Committee will be advised once the new MSA rep has been confirmed. Face-to-face meetings are generally held at Standards Australia’s offices in Sydney. However, in the interests of equity, where there are committee members from other states, one or more meetings may be held in other locations or virtually.
Professional Metrologist Programme
A taskgroup of the MSA Committee has been working on implementation of the MSA Professional Metrologist Programme. There have been some small delays in getting details right, but the taskgroup has processed the first applicant. Congratulations Neil Sturrock – our first Principal Metrologist! We are currently working on putting the relevant forms and information on the MSA website and will soon undertake a second round of applications. More information will be available soon, and we look forward to officially launching the Programme in the next months.
MSA Website Discussion Forums
Don't forget there is a place where members are free to connect with others via the website discussion forum. General Matters and Private sections (users have to be logged in) are a great place to get involved in our community, learn about job vacancies, get updated on news and events or participate in technical discussions.
