MSA Conference - Change of Date
Now 20th - 24th February 2023

The New Zealand Government has recently started to soften border restrictions and entry rules, but these are to be phased over several months into 2022. NZ is currently in the middle of an Omicron wave and uncertainty on travel remains. Australian and international visitors are integral to having a successful and inclusive conference. So in considering this, the NZ committee have decided to postpone MSA2022 to early 2023. This makes a 3 year gap between conferences and we're sure finally coming together to share, learn and socialise will be even more special in February 2023.
MSA2023 Platinum Sponsor - CPS (NZ) Ltd
Based in Auckland, CPS Ltd is 30 years strong and growing in calibration capability. CPS pride themselves in cutting edge accuracy, low uncertainties, investing in the very best calibration equipment and having IANZ accreditation to demonstrate their commitment to the industries they service. MSA2023 is grateful to have CPS (NZ) Ltd as Platinum Sponsor and we look forward to seeing them front and centre in February 2023.

Education Initiative - Modules completed
It is with absolute delight we announce a major step forward for our Education Initiative. Twelve lessons have now been drafted, reviewed and approved ready for the test institution, University of Waikato NZ, for delivery to year 4 electronic and mechatronic engineering students as part of the unit ‘Instrumentation and Measurement’. The inaugural course starts this week and nine students are currently enrolled. An outstanding effort from our contributors, members Dr Rod White for drafting the lessons and preparing the accompanying slides and Walter Giardini for his oversight and review. Also Anne Evans, for the due diligence in lining up all necessary paperwork to enable this to happen. The MSA Exec will now start planning to roll this out to more Tertiary Institutions.
New Zealand Branch Emerging Metrologist of the Year award
The NZ Branch is thrilled to have two sponsors on board supporting the Emerging Metrologist of the Year award. This award winner will be announced on World Metrology Day in May. RyCal Services Ltd is an IANZ accredited calibration laboratory based in Taranaki and Butler Techsence is a supplier of environmental monitoring solutions for pharmaceutical, GMP, medical, scientific and food production industries. The purpose for this award is to celebrate excellence amongst those just starting in their metrology career. We look forward to announcing the inaugural winner at World Metrology Day in May.

World Metrology Day 2022 - Events coming soon
