    The Measurement Standards Laboratory (MSL) is New Zealand's National Metrology Institute responsible for maintaining the national measurement system essential for on-going trade. The Electricity, Time and Frequency Team is responsible for maintaining New Zealand's Official Time and the measurement standards that support the electricity industry.

    The Manager Electricity, Time and Frequency will provide leadership and support to the team to deliver the statutory functions for the Crown and services for commercial customers. This role is diverse and will give you the opportunity to be involved in managing change working with a wide range of talented individuals. The team will be moving into a new purpose-built laboratory in 2019 and you will be responsible for overseeing significant investment in capital equipment and workforce development.

    You'll need an extensive background in operations management, ideally in the public sector managing technical expertise. You don't have to be a technical expert, however, a passion and understanding of the key role of MSL and the team play in keeping the measurement system working is a must. To be successful you'll be a motivated individual capable of building a high performing team and navigating a changing environment.
