On Tuesday 24th February the NZ MSA Conference Organising committee met in Christchurch and alongside David Jackson of Tait Communications hosted a group of 15 local calibration and measurement related Industry representatives at a tour through the Taits testing labs. Tait Communications is a true kiwi flagship in the innovation of electronic radio systems that was displayed so proudly in their mini museum! From humble beginnings after World War II, Angus Tait established a business designing and assembling mobile radios. Taits now have offices in six countries and a network of distributors and dealers in another 150 nations. They employ about 800 people around the world and export around 95% of products from their Christchurch base.
This is the 2nd site visit the NZ committee has organised and another 2 visits are planned before the conference in October. These visits give us the chance to engage with the NZ measurement and standards community to promote the MSA and the Conference. They also help us gain a better understanding of where support is needed and to share ideas for business growth and development. This will ultimately help build the MSA membership in New Zealand and shape on-going interactions beyond the conference.
