  • World Metrology Day 2018

We are fast approaching the measurement event of the year.

Please come and join us in celebrating this year’s World Metrology Day on Tuesday 22nd May at New Zealand’s Measurement Standards Laboratory, Gracefield, Lower Hutt.

The event is being run by the Metrology Society of Australasia and the day is stacked with great speakers that will provide you with valuable insight, information and education.

The morning session will include an update on the global progress towards redefining the SI system, followed by updated on MSL’s involvement and an overview of the recent changes to ISO 17025. The afternoon will be focused on laboratory practices – how to get the most of your IANZ audit, validating your technical procedures and how to track the performance of your instrument or artefact.

The day will then finish with a social event where there is an opportunity to grab a drink and speak with the scientists, tour round some of the labs including the newly refurbished Kibble Balance Lab (the lab to realise the NZ kilogram), or visit the large 3D printers onsite and hear how MSL is helping improve the accuracy of their printers and what’s instore for their future.

Full agenda is attached and you can register online here – .: Register Online Here :. (there is a small fee to cover refreshments during the day).

If you have any questions, please direct them to

Thank you and we look forward to seeing you on the 22nd May.
