[Sticky] Seeking an expert on Antique Bankers scales

We have been contacted by Suzanne Roberts, Curator for the Corporate Memory Program at Australia Post.  She is asking....

I’m specifically looking for historical and technical information about WT Avery Balance/banker/shop scales—particularly details about the maker and how the scales operate. I’ve already contacted a few museums, but information seems scarce since these scales were more commonly used in banks and shops.

If possible, I’d appreciate it if you could post my question on your website members' forum to see if any experts or enthusiasts might know more. I’m also curious if there are any Australian or Australasian societies or collector groups that focus on historical scales or measurement instruments that you could recommend.
