Keynote Speakers
Annette Koo, Chief Metrologist and Director at Measurement Standards Laboratory of New Zealand
Annette has been in her current role for three years but has been at MSL since 2008. She worked for over 10 years as a research scientist developing expertise in the measurement of light and human perception, representing NZ in international forums like CIE, CCPR and APMP. ย In September she will be taking up the role of Director Designate at the BIPM, becoming Directorย when Dr Milton retires. She is also a proud member of MSA.
Adam Spencer, MC, Speaker, Comedian, Author & Maths Geek
Adam is one of Australia’s most in-demand corporate MCs and a leading keynote speaker on artificial intelligence (AI), cyber security, the future of work, and the Chat GPT revolution. Adam has 25 years experience in television, radio and events. He’s entertained and educated discerning audiences at conferences and events ranging from a TED Talk to SXSW Sydney with his unique blend of intelligence and humour.ย ย Adam loves curating challenging and thought-provoking conversations. He has interviewed prime ministers, Hollywood stars, Fortune 500 CEOs, Nobel Prize-winning scientists and Australians of the Year. For our conference, Adam will be speaking on AI with a metrological focus.
Jennifer Evans, CEO, National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA), Australia
Jennifer has held this position since May 2011. She is currently Chair of the Asia-Pacific Accreditation Cooperation (APAC), a member of APACโs MRA Management Committee, Member of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) Arrangement Management Committee, and a member of the ILAC Executive Committee. She is also a Lead Evaluator for ILAC/APAC evaluations of accreditation bodies for signatory status in Mutual Recognition Agreements.
Eduardo Trifoni, Director of the Space Test Program and Head of the National Space Test Facility, ANU, Australia
The National Space Test Facility is the largest space testing infrastructure in Australasia. Eduardo has had a significant impact on space programs of four continents, contributing to the experimental development of many space vehicles capable of operating in Low Earth Orbit and withstanding the hypersonic entry phase, including nineteen spacecraft successfully sent into orbit in the last four years.
Call for Abstracts
Abstracts are sought for oral presentations at the conference. Presentations can be on any aspects relating to metrology in Calibration, Measurement, Testing; eg measurement techniques, measurement applications, laboratory accreditation and associated activities, measurement traceability, emerging issues in metrology, etc. and are normally 20 minutes duration including time for questions.ย Itโs not just for the boffinsโwe are especially keen to receive abstracts relating to industrial applications and from second- and third-tier laboratories. Help us build an informative and diverse programme!

Abstracts must be submitted using the abstract template (click below to download). There will be no proceedings, so full papers are not required.
