The Wonder Project, initiated by Engineering New Zealand, is a free, not-for-profit schools programme designed to inspire young Kiwis in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Recognising a national skills and diversity shortfall in these fields, the project offers hands-on, curriculum-aligned experiences for students from Year 5 to 13. Supported by volunteer industry professionals known as Wonder Project Ambassadors, the initiative aims to reshape students’ perceptions of STEM during their formative school years. By providing all necessary resources at no cost to schools, the Wonder Project empowers students to achieve remarkable outcomes in their education, communities, and future careers.
