A New Partnership for Metrology
The Metrology Society of Australasia (MSA) and NCSL International (NCSLI) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), formalising a collaborative relationship and strengthening their shared commitment to advancing metrology, measurement science and quality practices worldwide.
Signed on 15 July 2026, the agreement establishes a five-year framework for cooperation focused on professional development, education, networking and the exchange of technical knowledge for the benefit of the global metrology community.

Formalising the Agreement
The MoU represents an important milestone in fostering closer engagement between metrology professionals in Australasia and the broader international measurement community.
Both organisations have committed to supporting technical excellence, professional development and the dissemination of best practice across industry, laboratories, government, academia and calibration service providers.
The partnership creates new opportunities to share knowledge and expertise while strengthening international networks within measurement science.

Cooperate in activities that support metrology professionals, laboratories and industry stakeholders.

Promote conferences, seminars, workshops, publications and technical resources across both organisations.
Education & Training
Collaborate on the development and delivery of education, training programs and professional learning opportunities.
Committee Participation
Encourage mutual representation on committees, working groups and technical initiatives.

Promote and support attendance at major events hosted by each organisation.
Global Engagement
Facilitate ongoing dialogue and exchange between members of both organisations.
Building International Connections
Both organisations share the objective of expanding the knowledge and skills of measurement science and quality professionals through networking, education and support for industry standards.
By combining expertise, resources and professional networks, MSA and NCSLI aim to enhance technical capability, promote best practice and contribute to the continued advancement of metrology globally.
Leadership representatives will meet at least annually to discuss mutual benefits and activities, review progress and develop plans for the coming year.
